The Cattle Egret - Ardeola ibis is so called because it can often be seen in close proximity to cattle and other large mammals where it benefits from insects and small prey disturbed by them. It also harvest ticks and mites directly from cattle and can often be seen hitching a ride as it does so.
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
