At Dungeness this seemingly abandoned but still functional fog horn is an impressive sight and I guess sound. For the brave you can rent the adjacent building as a holiday let - though with this thing going off literally every 60 seconds in fog it may not be entirely peaceful. In the background to the left is the 'old' lighthouse.
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
