This beautiful if somewhat crazy hairdo adorned bird hunts a variety of small prey including beetles, grubs and snakes - dealing with the latter by bashing them into submission on rocks / hard ground. Although it can fly it prefers to run when chasing prey or threatened. This image was taken at Twycross zoo who have given permission for it to be sold.
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
