43106 'The Flying Pig' is the only surviving example of an Ivatt class 4 steam locomotive and was one of the very last to be withdrawn from the days of steam. Seen here venting steam that is totally obscuring the carriages behind it as it prepares to leave the station. It is for some reason widely known as 'The flying pig'.
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
