This is part of a public art piece "Legacy" on Liverpool docks. Rain has formed a film of water over the lower surfaces of the face giving a subtle,soft edge to this image. The larger group, mother, father, son and daughter represents the many families who emigrated to America via the port at Liverpool. The piece was gifted to the city by the Mormon church and was created by Mark de Graffenried.
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
