Artist's Description
Somewhere around 1130 AD or so the story goes a Derby baker known as Cornelius saw a vision of the Virgin Mary in which he was told to come here and worship God. He dug this hermitage out of the sandstone and then lived here for some 20 years before moving to a nearby more conventional dwelling.
About Steev Stamford
I'm a UK based freelance photographer who particularly likes old things, churches, industrial heritage, old machinery . . . and then by contrast like nature and wildlife too. I'm a dedicated tripod geek - my camera very rarely gets used 'off tripod' as many of my shots are taken in low light or require large DOF. Sometimes I shoot an image for use 'as is' - but I also like to get creative so shoot with the intention of combining multiple exposures - another great reason for being on the tripod. Just about the only thing you won't see in my portfolio are people.
